You may have just stumbled upon the fastest recipe on the blog! It is a "float," a very American dessert/drink hybrid, following in the footsteps of the more famous milkshake. I had the chance to try it when I lived in Boston, but the float had completely slipped my mind until I saw a McDonald's advertisement offering one for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Their version, the McFloat, consists of vanilla ice cream and coke; in the United States, I've often seen a vanilla & root beer version. Here, I wanted to offer a lighter and fruitier version, so sorbet and lemon lemonade! I chose blackcurrant sorbet, but a raspberry, lemon, or even apricot version would also go very well with the lemonade 😊
Preparation time: 5 minutes
For 4 people:
Ingredients:
8 scoops of ice cream or sorbet of your choice
Approximately 1L of beverage of your choice (lemonade, soda, root beer)
Recipe:
Put 2 scoops of ice cream in each glass; pour the beverage over, stir with a straw so the ice cream melts slightly. It's ready, enjoy!
